Beth joined Stage Stars when she was just 6 years old and has never left. Having taking a number of lead parts, she then began to take on roles supporting students, and joined the staffing team in 2021.
Beth Blake
Beth has been working full time for the past six years as a Pastoral Administrative Officer at a local secondary school. In this role she supports students’ wellbeing and daily needs, and she is also a qualified ‘Mental Health Youth First Aider’ and First Aider. Beth feels honoured to be in a position where she can support the mental health of young people and help them feel safe, listened to, and valued.
Beth’s connection to StageStars spans an incredible 17 years. She joined at just six years old in 2008, began performing in shows at the age of eight, and quickly discovered it was a place where she felt she truly belonged. Her first production was Rattitude in 2010, where she appeared as Villager 13 and 17. From that point onwards, Stage Stars became an integral part of her life. It was somewhere friendships grew into extended family, and something she looked forward to every single week. The supportive and encouraging environment created a space that felt like home, and many of Beth’s closest friendships and relationships today exist because of her time as a student there.
She feels she owes a great deal to Stage Stars and the impact it has had on her life, and she hopes to help future generations feel just as supported and cared for as she did growing up. After supporting with show weeks shortly after the COVID pandemic, Beth officially joined the staff team in 2021 and has been committed to helping students thrive ever since.
Her background in music and performance allows her to offer additional support to young performers, particularly those building confidence in singing. Music has always been an important part of Beth’s life.
During her secondary school years she studied music extensively, completing practical grades 1–8 in Music Theatre, Piano, and Music Theory, alongside seven years of singing lessons. Beth studied Drama at both GCSE and A Level, achieving high grades, which further strengthened her understanding of performance and storytelling. She has been involved in choirs since the age of seven, performing her first solo at just nine years old. This passion led her to join her secondary school’s Harmony Choir, where she had the opportunity to perform as part of Plymouth’s Mayflower 400 International Choir at Plymouth Guildhall in 2015.
She regularly performed solos and duets at school events and, during sixth form, helped conduct the choir while serving as Head Girl. Beth performed at many open mic events throughout her teenage years, and continues to sing as part of a choir today. Beth is deeply committed to creating a nurturing, welcoming environment for every child she works with. She believes that youth theatre is not only about performance skills but also about confidence, friendships, and personal growth. Being able to give back to the community that shaped her is something she feels incredibly grateful for, and she is proud to play a part in helping young people discover their own sense of belonging.
